Our company is expanding and is looking for new colleague who will support our team from claims handling and assistance.
A Claims Handler helps manage every step of the claims process to ensure that the team completes individual tasks efficiently and effectively.
They support the claimant throughout the process and then ensure that the policyholder receives payment for valid claims. It’s up to the claims advisor to make sure that an issued payment was correct and there was no under or overpayment.
In some cases, it may be necessary for a claims handler to contact insurance underwriters, adjusters and brokers for their expertise.
It might also be necessary for them to work with external experts, such as hospitals, mechanics and engineers, when assessing a claim.
The duties of an insurance claims advisor include:
providing guidance on making a claim and the involved processes
taking the policyholder’s personal information and contact details
advising how to proceed with the claim
collecting the necessary information and documents to proceed with a claim
reviewing the claimant’s insurance policy and assessing whether their claim satisfies the conditions
identifying any reasons the policyholder may not receive full compensation
explaining to a policyholder when their policy doesn’t cover their claim
organising any repairs on the policyholder’s property by using a network of approved professionals
monitoring a claim’s progress and ensuring it’s handled efficiently
investigating any potentially fraudulent claims
consulting with other legal and claims professionals to assess the claim terms
seeking advice from external professionals on more complicated cases when necessary
ensuring the policyholder receives fair treatment and excellent customer service
ensuring payment for all valid claims
managing any complaints surrounding a claim
handling all the administrative aspects of the claim
Requirements:
Computer literacy (MS office)
Availability to work morning and afternoon shifts
Ability to commute to and from work with own vehicle
English
